Harlem Hot Shots (Sweden)
- artistic, professional and re-creative! All of the company's activities are inspired by the ideals of the Swing Era, focusing on faithful reconstructions and a framework that is true to the period.

Lennart Westerlund

The music, dances, costumes and overall presentation all emanate directly from genuine sources.

Frida Segerdahl
Their dancing and teaching is full of energy and fun -
simply pure swing!

Sakarias Larsson
They use authentic material from old film clips as well as many meetings with dancers and musicians who were active in the USA during the 1930s and 40s.

Jenny Durell

Andrew Sutton (USA)

Andrew is a highly original & creative dancer combining authentic & contemporary styling.

Andrew travels teaching and dancing all around Europe, Russia, Australia and of course America - he truly knows what swing dancing is and how to break it down. His teaching methods will improve your technique, add exciting new moves & bring out the best in your dancing!

Simon Selmon (UK)

For over 20 years Simon has been well renowned as a leading teacher & dancer in the world of swing dancing. He has choreographed and performed for stage, film & television and has had two books published on swing dancing. With a vast experience in teaching and years of studying with many original and contemporary dancers he continues to share his passion & love for Lindy Hop with his unique, fun & entertaining style.

Additional guest teachers:

Melanie Bucher (Switzerland)

Melanie has been dancing since she was a little girl. She has competed and taught in several disciplines with immense success and teaches around Europe on weekly basis. As Europe's top female Swing dance instructor, specialising in Boogie-Woogie and West Coast Swing, she has coached numerous top professional and national teams.

During her career Melanie has won 61 competitions including World and European Championships!

We are very excited to have Melanie bring her special style of teaching to the London Lindy Hop Festival. No matter what level or style you dance, there is a lot to be gained from a lesson with Melanie!

Paul Crook & Natasha Hall (UK)

Paul and Natasha are two of London 's best Balboa and Shag dancers, teachers and performers. They both have a love and passion for the swing era and won the hearts of the nation while appearing on BBC's Strictly Dance Fever competition.

The Bees Knees (UK)
The Bee’s Knees dance the nineteen-twenties in to the noughties. Sequins a-glint and fringed hems vigorously swinging, these chic girls provide a great atmosphere. Their infectious Charleston steps make every foot feel tip-tappiddy-happy.

MARVEL: at moves to make your mother shimmy.
GASP: at the black bottom! (The dance made famous by Josephine Baker)
DELIGHT: in the speed, sparkle and spectacle of these thoroughly modern Flappers. At every kick and turn the Bees Knees exude the quirky exoticism, style and humour of an era when knees were VERY exciting!

Moe Sakan (UK/Japan)
Moe Sakan studied jazz, ballet, tap and contemporary dance at the 'Amuse' studios in Osaka, Japan and has been dancing Lindy Hop since 1999. A pearl of the Orient, she has brought a sparkle to the London Swing scene since she moved here in 2000. She joined the Sugarfoot Stompers in 2001 and has since been regularly dancing and performing for the London Swing Dance Society.

Nigel Anderson

Nigel has been one of the top swing dancers in the UK for over a decade, having won prestigious UK Jive titles on four separate occasions. Along with his championship successes Nigel has made numerous TV, Film & Stage appearances in productions varying from "Blue Peter" to "Soldier Soldier" and has been a regular member of the "Sugar Foot Stompers" performance group for the last five years. Currently he is touring the UK giving demonstrations and instruction on the wide range of Swing dances that were spawned from Lindy Hop.

Junior Laniyan

Junior is an amazing tap dancer, performer, actor and teacher!

Junior is as happy dancing away the early hours in a club as he is on a theatre stage. He clearly has the passion for performance, and a CV that includes appearing with Robbie Williams at the Royal Albert Hall. But you might have seen him in his other guise as an actor, popping up in soaps, or Danny Boyle's 28 Days Later.

Dan Guest

Based in London, Dan specialises in Afro American partner dances and vernacular Jazz from the 1920 to 1940s. He is a respected dance historian as well as a teacher and performer of the dances. His particular specialities are Lindy Hop, Balboa and Charleston. Dan appeared on primetime TV as part of the BBC's Strictly Dance Fever series as a Charleston specialist!
